The Dual-Entity Model
Sim-I-Am operates as two legally distinct entities, following the Mozilla model:
Sim-I-Am Foundation
Non-profit trust that holds the mission, ethics framework, participant data, and consent architecture. Governed by an independent board with an Ethics Council holding veto power.
Sim-I-Am Data Corp
Commercial subsidiary that handles AI data licensing. Anonymizes, packages, and licenses consent-verified datasets. All net revenue flows back to the Foundation to fund perpetual preservation.
